The Mountains Group

The Mountains Group is a Black-owned, next-generation theatre and screen production company founded to challenge, inspire, and endure. Led by BAFTA scholar Obadiah. We create raw, uncompromising work rooted in lived experience.

Born in London and shaped by our diverse heritages, we tell stories that confront, uplift, and cut through work that is both grounded and visionary.

We launched with Camp Drill, a sold-out debut that raised funds for Art Against Knives, followed by My Garden of Eden a genre-defying piece developed with Guildhall, Undisciplined, and the Barbican. Since then, we’ve premiered solo shows at the Barbican (The Mountains We Climb), produced the documentary Life After Injury with BFI and Vivid Echo and begun developing a slate of short films including The ComplexityA Vinyl at a Time, and The Last Quarter.

Our work has been recognised by BAFTA, the Lilian Baylis Award, Les Enfants Terribles, Media Trust and Camden People’s Theatre, and continues to expand across theatre, film, education, and community. Whether on stage or screen, in boroughs or across borders, we’re building a new canon one that’s truthful, unapologetic, and unforgettable.

The Mountains Foundation

The Mountains Foundation is the charitable wing of The Mountains Group, focused on empowering young people through creativity and direct support.

We’ve reached over 200 young people in London through workshops, mentoring, and public speaking programmes. In partnership with Brent Council and the Edward Harvist Trust, we’re supporting over 300 young people across the borough in 2025.

Internationally, we’ve provided essential aid to 300+ children in Kinshasa, DRC, delivering food, water, and medicine straight to families in need.

We move with urgency and purpose using art, community and care to create real-world impact where it’s needed most.
